pidgin crashes with a "Trace/breakpoint trap" message

I'm running the first alpha of Lucid Lynx.

I've tried installing 3 versions of Nvidia's drivers from their site. With all 3 versions, pidgin has not worked. I don't know if that's related to the video drivers or not but Transmission, for example, didn't work with 190.42 (I believe) or 190.55 but does work with 195.22.

This is a clean install. I had problems with audio when I tried upgrading and it seemed better to just install a couple of hours ago.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Do you get the same with Lucid or Maverick? Thanks in advance.
