Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start client. The "Confirm Computer Access" page opens in Firefox.
2. Press "Add this computer". The page loads, and when it's done the notification icon changes to a connected icon and the "My files" page is shown in Firefox.
3. Wait a few seconds. The icon first changes to a synchronising icon, then to the disconnected icon. Another copy of the "Confirm Computer Access" page opens in Firefox.
4. Repeat from step 2.

I have just set up my account to try out Ubuntu One, and haven't yet tried to set up any other computers than this one. I have set up Tomboy synchronisation, and it appears to work fine.

Hi Vassili,

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. It looks like the bandwidth usage settings may be causing some problems. Can you try the following and let me know if the problem goes away?

1. Delete ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf
2. Restart the Ubuntu One client

Thank you,

Joshua

I deleted the syncdaemon.conf and restarted the client, but the same thing happened. I also tried deleting the entire ~/.config/ubuntuone/ directory, but that didn't help either.

Running ubuntuone-client-applet in a terminal prints the following just before the disconnect:
ERROR:dbus.proxies:Introspect error on com.ubuntuone.SyncDaemon:/: dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. Is this still an issue for you with the latest Ubuntu One? If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs. Just zip your $HOME/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ folder and attach the zip here.

After you attach the logs you can change the 'Status' of your bug back to 'New'. The status of a bug report can be modified by clicking on the current status in the yellow line, which will reveal a sub menu. You can then set a new status in the drop down box.

thank you,
