Bug Description

Binary package hint: mt-daapd

Attempting to transcode ogg files via mt-daapd to Roku Soundbridge in Karmic Koala. I read about the change (that the Ubuntu mt-daapd binary would automatically transcode using ffmpeg) in Jaunty but couldn't get it to work in Jaunty. I found a workaround (and posted it: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=7341087&postcount=3) and was content to use it. Now in 9.10 I attempted to try it without the workaround and it won't transcode the ogg files. I attempted the workaround and now it doesn't work, either.

This is really frustrating because I can't build mt-daapd from source either due to some ffmpeg headers hell I encounter on configure.

According the the package description: Built-in transcoding support enables serving popular free music formats like
FLAC, Ogg Vorbis or Musepack to those clients that do not otherwise support
these formats. Transcoding happens on the fly, with the target format usually
 being WAV.

So what do I have to do to get this to work?

Thanks!
