Bug Description

My ubuntu version is 9.10 , the core version is 2.6.31 .

My wireless .inf file under vista is net8192se.inf .

I installed the ndiswrapper util 1.9

------------------------

the result of the "ndiswrapper -l " ,it's

net8192se : driver installed
 device (10EC:8172) present

the result of the commandline "sudo modprobe ndiswrapper", it's

nothing happens.

I've added the "ndiswrapper" at the end of /etc/modules

I've renamed the file of ndiswrapper under /etc/modprobe.d/ to ndiswrapper.conf , in this file ,it's already written "alias wlan0 ndiswrapper "

the result of the commandline "iwconfig", it's

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

pan0 no wireless extensions.

So it means the computer cannot find my wireless card ,right ?

So what can I do next ? Thanks!

This bug appears to relate to using ndiswrapper to make this card work, so I won't flag this as a duplicate straight away. However now in lucid-proposed there is a fix for bug #567016 which addresses the native Linux driver by using the vendor's latest driver version.

Ranko,

Fixes to the rtl8192se were included in the most recently released development kernel 2.6.35-16.22. We believe that these fixes may have an impact on your particular issue. As such, we would like for you to test this kernel and let us know if it resolves the problems you were having.

Thanks in advance for your testing of this kernel!
