Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

I tested the Live CD "Kubuntu 10.4 Alpha 1". During the "Disk Setup" step I chose to manually setup the layout. I selected a partition, clicked on change and selected it to be an ext4 parition, to be mounted as "/" and checked the checkbox to format it. After a click on ok the installer crashes (reproducable) with the following message:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/frontend/kde_ui.py", line 1888, in
on_partition_list_edit_activate
    self.partman_edit_dialog(devpart, partition)
  File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/frontend/kde_ui.py", line 1760, in
partman_edit_dialog
    self.dbfilter.edit_partition(devpart, **edits)
TypeError: edit_partition() got an unexpected keyword argument 'format'

Unfortunately I can't append /var/log/partman, because Konqueror (the only browser I have with the Live CD) seems not to be able to work together with Launchpad for a file upload.

I received the same error, and was able to locate and attach the two files indicated in the error message.

This crash only occurs when I select the option to format a particular partition in the dialog to change an existing partition, and then press OK to save the settings for that partition.

If I do not select the option to format the partition, the installer behaves normally and continues to install successfully.
