Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

The copy and paste function in Firefox 3.5.5 for Linux Ubuntu 9.10 is just grey and doesn't work. Neither does shortcuts ctrl+c and ctrl+v. Neither does right click copy and paste. I tried another browser, in this case Opera, and it did work with copy and paste.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can conflict. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic one.

You can start the profile manager with the following command:
firefox -ProfileManager

Strange thing is that it works fine again. I've had this problem for a couple of days. If it comes back I will check extensions or profiles. Thanks!

I have the same problem. It seems to present randomly, without me removing or modifying any firefox add-on.

The description of the problem is the following. Sometimes it happens that selecting phrases from a web page turns the selecion bar grey (meaning "unabled" in some manner) after clicking on it with the right muose button. Actually the bar turns grey not immediately after pressing the right muouse button but it remailns brown (that is "active" in some manner) ultil I move the mouse pointer on the menu window to select the "copy" option.

Any suggestion, please?
Thanks.
