Bug Description

Binary package hint: gedit

Here is how to produce it

1. open a text file longer than one page, say, 3 page.

2. type something on page 1

3. scroll away from page 1, say, to page 3

4. click on page 3, then gedit will automatically scroll back to somewhere between page 1 and page 3

I installed ubuntu on three different PC, and two of them got same problems, which is really weird since I installed almost identical packages/software on them.

Anyone got similar problem?

I figured out that this bug is actually caused by "gcin". After removed it, everything becomes normal again.

Having severe issues with Gedit in Ubuntu 12.10.

Open a file in Gedit, use scroll wheel on mouse to scroll. Go to another window, like eclipse. Go back to Gedit (alt-tab) and move scroll wheel. The cursor always jumps down to the last lines of the file, even if the cursor is located in the beginning of the file.

Basically makes gedit almost useless.

I do not have ginc installed.
