Bug Description
Binary package hint: cups
The horizontal character size/pitch when printing text files is too large. It seems to be 60-70% of the expected value.
For example, lp -o cpi=20 file.txt produces output with about 11 characters per inch horizontally (expected 20).
Vertical spacing seems correct.
The default output is 6-7 characters per inch (huge!). The documentation says:
"The default characters per inch is 10."
(see http://
I'll attach scans showing the incorrect character sizes.
The printer is an HP 3030 LaserJet multifunction, connected via USB and auto-configured by CUPS.
I tried deleting the printer from CUPS and adding it back as Foomatic/Postscript but the behavior did not change.
