Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10

totem:
  Installed: 2.28.2-0ubuntu3
  Candidate: 2.28.2-0ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 2.28.2-0ubuntu3 0
        500 http://ubuntuarchive.hnsdc.com karmic-updates/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     2.28.1-0ubuntu4 0
        500 http://ubuntuarchive.hnsdc.com karmic/main Packages

What happens: Totem fails to render video after playing any audio file. However, when totem is resized or any menu item is selected or is full-screen the video is rendered.

Restarting totem with a video will play the video flawlessly. But if any audio is played before the video, the problem reappears.

that works fine here, which video driver are you using? are you running compiz ? does it happen if you disable it and try again? which kind of file (avi, mpeg, mov, etc) ?

My driver is i845

Nope, no compiz here.

All video files (the ones I've used are ogv, avi and mpeg ones).

and the problem arises only when the visualisation is disabled. Works fine if visualisation is enabled.

no... video plays flawlessly I tried that too... like I said, it happens only after I play an audio and in totem when the visualisation is disabled.

I said this too:
Restarting totem with a video will play the video flawlessly. But if any audio is played before the video, the problem reappears.
