Bug Description

At the time of updating the kernel associated system in case of mail out the message that the tar is damaged or incomplete, thus not installed on the system

Thank you for taking time for help making Ubuntu better reporting this bug.

Please, note that your Dkpg log says

dpkg: error al procesar /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.31-16-generic_2.6.31-16.52_i386.deb (--unpack):
 sistema de ficheros del archivo tar dañado - archivo de paquete dañado

Which means that your .deb file is corrupted somehow. Please, delete it and try again.

I'm going to mark the bug as 'Incomplete' to keep track on it. Please feel free to mark it as 'New' if it still is an issue for you.
