Erroneous display of "From" field

The "From" line/string presented by evolution has some characters missing and some twisted.
For example , the original string in the message source is :

From: asf.ro PostMaster <email address hidden>

However, evolution displays it as :

From: asf.roP <ostMaster <email address hidden>>

This happens always in evolutions for the error messages sent by mailservers.
Other email clients work fine;
The string is correct in the message source shown by evolution with CTRL-U but it is not correct when displayed on the screen.

the characters are not twisted, so we should exclude a mailserver problem.

The problem also exists in the recently released win32 evolution build (2.6.2)

It seems that this bug has older roots : Look at the attached screenshot from a debian sarge evolution (2.0.4). The characters are not twisted in this version, but a space is missing : it displays "asf.roPostMaster" instead of "asf.ro PostMaster"

I'm getting the same problem in Edgy:

From: XYZ.com Pitch Queued Manager<email address hidden>

Displays as:

From: XYZ.comP <itch Queued <email address hidden>>

I don't know if it is a coincidence, but it seems to be something related to displaying the
<P
sequence of characters.
