http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/Htmlize has some notes and a patch which might help against this problem. Excerpt: "In Emacs 23, face properties have changed a bit, so use the patched version (still compatible with older Emacsen)". There are also various suggestions for workarounds (use HtmlFontify instead, etc).

I tried it on emacs-goodies-el's debian/changelog file and it worked for me (on Debian sid)
