Bug Description

when starting update manager in kde (kcmshell4 in process table) and selecting packages for update, the manager shuts down when clicking [OK]. I have to use [APPLY] to make it work.

additional comment: The process starts when clicking [OK] and shuts down after "Abfrage läuft"-Box. This is before I am asked for allowing additional installation of packages due to dependencies and committing the password.

affects: kde4libs (Ubuntu) → kpackagekit (Ubuntu)

Confirming that nasty bug. OK may hide the update manager while APPLY may keep it visible, but exiting on OK is too hard.

For me the bug is fixed. OK is now working as expected.

unfortunately the bug reappeared. Cannot say, which update it was exactly - probably the last one. (not today)

I can confirm this bug using 0.4.2-0ubuntu3. "OK" closes kpackagekit and does nothing, apply works perfectly.

From what I've seen, KPackageKit is actually quitting normally in these cases; it just closes because the dialog that was keeping it from quitting went away.
It does appear to be fixed in KPackageKit 0.5.4, though.

No, that's not likely. Because KPackageKit - when showing the reported behavior - is not asking for password before quitting. So the work stays undone. Only when clicking "apply" KPackageKit asks for password - _when_ it does show those behaviour. At the moment everything is fine and the bug reappeared only one time. It is "fixed" again now. I am really sorry I dont know which packages were upated before the behavior changed.

Oh! Sorry for my ignorance!! I will wait for next update of kpackagekit (did not see the current version is 0.4.2)

Thanks a lot
