Bug Description

First off, I'm dual-booting Ubuntu (v9.04) and Windows, and this bug is only present on my Ubuntu partition. It isn't package-specific; it just happens randomly every minute or so. It's especially annoying when I'm typing and my text suddenly starts appearing where I left my cursor several lines up, or the window focus switches, or a page randomly scrolls. I suppose I could have some weird touchpad sensitivity setting, but I've already tried messing around with those to no effect.

Hello
Is this problem present with the latest updated Karmic's, Lucid's or Maverick's packages?
Thanks in advance
