Bug Description
Hi
I have a 64 bit Kubuntu upgraded from Ubuntu (aptitude install kubuntu-desktop), running on a ThinkPad R500 laptop. I updated my system today, and I rebooted it. I noticed that the Xorg and the kernel upgraded.
When I start booting, I see the Kubuntu progress bar for a while, and it disappears. From that point I can't manage to see anything on the screen, even if I hit any ctrl+alt+fN combinations. The only thing I can do is to reboot my computer with alt+sysrq+sub.
I tried the previous kernel, but it also does not work. The only way I can use my computer is to change the "quiet splash" kernel parameters to "nosplash i915.modeset=0" in the GRUB2 editor at the boot.
I don't use xorg.conf, xorg.log is attached.
