Bug Description

Binary package hint: alsamixergui

Since the update from 9.04 to 9.10 I'm unable to play FullHD Videos.

Under 9.04 I could play them without a hassle, the cpu (2x3,3 Ghz) didn't even get to >50% load.
Now any player with any output method shows me about 1 to 2 frames per second, while the cpu still doesn't get any more load then in 9.04.

I have an onboard Nvidia 8300 card. VLC, mplayer, Totem all say something along

I also don't want to bypass this by waiting for video hardware acceleration support, since it used to work flawlessly just before the update.

What driver are you using for the Nvidia 8300?

At least for me, the recent wave of updates solved the problem. Everything is back to normal, this bugreport can be closed.
