Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

Compared to Pidign Empathy is everything but pretty. The following things are the most unpleasant in my opinion.

* Status Icons look really strange and unintuitive(triangles, cirlces... wtf?)
* ChatWindow-Tabs are way to small and don't idicate typing/new messages in a pleasant way
* Chatting tools are hidden in the top unlike pidign who places emoticons, formatting etc directly above the input box.

The look of empathy is the reason for me to stick with Pidign. Why does Empathy allow Chat theming but not theming of the status icon and buddy list for example?
I mean seriously a green circle in my status bar can be anything. How should a normal user know that that is the instant messenger?

I hope that 10.04 will supply a nicer looking chat programme.

This is not a bug. Discussion of this nature should be made on the ubuntu forums at http://ubuntuforums.org
