Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

I have not yet given my launchpad email+password to ubuntu, nonetheless it tries immediately to connect when I click the connect button in the Ubuntu One folder in nautilus or "Se connecter" after clicking on the tray icon of Ubuntu one. The "Connexion" button stays disabled indefinitely after clicking it, and no status is given. I just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 from 9.04 two days ago.

Hi Olli,

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Can you try the following and let me know what the results are?

1. Open Applications->Accessories->Passwords & Encryption Keys
2. Delete your "Ubuntu One token"
3. Open Firefox and go to: https://one.ubuntu.com/account/machines/
4. Delete all the machines on the account
5. Restart the Ubuntu One client (you should get a browser window prompting you to add your computer to Ubuntu One)
6. Add your computer
7. Does the client connect and sync now?

Thank you,

Joshua

Hi Joshua,

It seems you are assuming I am further in the process than I really am. There is no key related to Ubuntu One in Passwords & Encryption Keys, so I could not delete it, nor have I added any machines (according to https://one.ubuntu.com/account/machines/ ) , nor do I know how to. Ubuntu One client is not asking me to add my computer to Ubuntu One.

Thanks for you advice,
Olli

I do not understand that other bug and how that relates to this one at all. It does not provide any instructions I can understand. By marking it as duplicate you have caused launchpad to send me loads of spam I do not understand, either.
