About: namebench is a google project that attempts to optimize part of your internet experience. It hunts down the fastest DNS servers available for your computer to use. namebench runs a fair and thorough benchmark using your web browser history, tcpdump output, or standardized datasets in order to provide an individualized recommendation. namebench is completely free and does not modify your system in any way. This project began as a 20% project at Google.

Although I was able to install namebench using Ubuntu Software Center in Ubuntu Desktop 10.10 64bit, I didn't find it in any of my GNOME 2 menus; I had to run it from the command line.

So, it appears that namebench is now packaged, but it is not in the gnome menus after installation.
