Bug Description

Steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Start the system
2. Login into system
3. Put the system in sleep mode
4. Resume the system
5. At login prompt, put in the password for user who was last logged in before suspending

At this stage, even if the password entered is correct, the system goes into some infinite loop of "checking the password" and eventually fails after 5 minutes.

6. Re-enter the password after 1st time out.

This time, authentication is successful and user is logged in.

Any future suspends (without any reboots) does not have the problem (5) and user is logged in right away after entering correct password.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

- This is a bug not a papercut,
For further information about papercuts criteria, please read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut.

Thanks for your report, naheed. You're talking about the prompt to unlock the screen, right? If so, this is gnome-screensaver. Reassigning.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Do you get the same with latest Lucid packages or in Maverick? Thanks in advance.
