Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

This is not a bug, but a faeture request.

Provide a virtual interfaces file under /proc or /sys that contains the interfaces automatically configurated by network-manager in a syntax of /etc/network/interfaces. This would make it easy to manualy configure the interface in the same way network-manager does and may be tweak the config if there are specal needs.

In the future, it's much better to go directly the upstream project when requesting features. It's unlikely that this will be something implemented by Ubuntu developers...

I reported it upstream in gnome bug-tracker, so I have no objection closing it here, except ubuntu wants to implement the feature ;-)
