Bug Description

Stellarium 0.10.2
Windows XP Pro
Service Pack 3
Display adapter: Mobility Radeon 9600
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc
Driver version: 6.14.10.6378

After booting the laptop, following installation of the program, the first few times Stellarium was started, the Windows desktop disintegrated into a multi-coloured pattern, covering the entire screen, extending from the bottom right-hand corner to the top left-hand corner.

The pattern remained for a few seconds, then the program started, apparently normally.

This behaviour disappeared after the program was started a few times.

What you see is random uncleared data from the last openGL buffer update from the last openGL-based software run. Should try to find a way to get rid of it. The boot start in the next release is much shorter anyway.

Thanks.

After starting Stellarium, when the random pattern is not displayed, what I see briefly is the usual land and skyscape, then the screen goes black and a splash window opens and loads the constallation data, then the land and skyscape returns and I am able to use Stellarium. I expected the program to start with the splash screen, before displaying the land and skyscpape.

Stellarium crashes whenever I select the left-hand [F2] or [F4] options.
Should I create a separate bug report to describe this problem?
