Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdegraphics

Binary package hint: okular

1) Using Ubuntu 9.10.
2) Okular version: 4:4.3.3-0ubuntu1
3) I expected Okular to display PDF document correctly.
4) Okular didn't display any of the instances of letter 'u' in the document.

More details:
Using Firefox I created a PDF document by printing an Gmail email. When I opened the document in okular, it doesn't display any of the instances of letter 'u'. When Opening that same document using a different PDF reader the document is displayed correctly.

2.6.31-15-generic i686

The problem is present when a PDF document is generated by printing an email written in Spanish language. On the other hand, when printing an email written in english the document is displayed correctly. In addition, in one case Okular displayed correctly the first instance of letter 'u' and accented i: "í" however remaining instances of these letters where not displayed.

I'm using Gentoo, and see the same problem when using Okular to read mixed language PDFs originating from Firefox. Most of the "u" characters do not display. I wanted to add that I'm seeing very similar results with some non-KDE applications, which may have a bearing on troubleshooting. Both flpsed and pdfedit fail to display the same particular "u" characters that do not appear in Okular.

affects: okular (Ubuntu) → poppler (Ubuntu)
