Bug Description

Binary package hint: xfce4-panel

Whenever a program in Xfce4-panel's system tray has a notification bubble pop up, it's in the wrong place (much further down and to the right of the system tray. The "X" on the bubble seems to be off-screen so the notification bubble cannot be closed manually -- it must close on its own after time. Also, if the mouse attempts to hover over the notification bubble, it disappears.

Hi,

Thank you for your bug report. This is not a bug in xfce4-panel though, the "bubbles" come from notify-osd, and are designed that way (disappear on hover, no close button).

affects: xfce4-panel (Ubuntu) → notify-osd (Ubuntu)

I would like to add another suggestion about notify bubbles' position. They cover xfce4-panel as they spawn, what forces me to close them to get to programs, that resident in the system tray. Maybe notify-osd could read the panel's height and adjust the position to avoid such situations?

Sorry, I've just realised, that this bubbles comes from notification-daemon package, not notify-osd, though I have both installed, what confused me (shouldn't they be in conflict?). Also I found out, that notify-osd can't be configured to spawn pop-ups from bottom right now, so I guess I will wait until it will be possible.
