rooms create new windows

Binary package hint: empathy

I subscribe to approximately 10 favourite IRC Rooms and set them to auto-enable on startup.

When connected, the rooms may or may not stay as tabs in the same window. This is frustrating because I prefer all the rooms and chats to be tabbed into a single window.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Can you please confirm if this is still an issue in the development release of empathy. you can try the development release from this ppa https://launchpad.net/~telepathy/+archive/ppa or If you are using the beta of Lucid you should already have the latest version. here jabber chat rooms, auto join on start, still open in one extra window, starting a new private chat it is not opened in that window but a new window is created.
