Bug Description

Binary package hint: file

MP3 files are often not recognized in Karmic. I took all mp3s from my music archive, removed extensions, and only a half of files were recognized. It was OK in Jaunty.
I've attached a sample file which is not recognized by File.

I can not confirm this bug. I downloaded your sample file and tried it on 3 different systems with exactly the same result:
$ cp Come.mp3 Come
$ file Come.mp3
Come.mp3: MPEG ADTS, layer III, v1, 112 kbps, 44.1 kHz, JntStereo
$ file Come
Come: MPEG ADTS, layer III, v1, 112 kbps, 44.1 kHz, JntStereo
$

This was done on:
- Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty
- Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic
- Debian 5 Lenny

Actually, I tested this in nautilus. I've repeated the CLI commands and it works perfectly. Looks like it's a bug of nautilus, not file. Sorry for disturbing you.
