Bug Description

Hi,

Today Launchpad is an openID provider, that gives a Launchpad user the ability to use his launchpad id when logging in to other services that is OpenID-consumer-enabled.

There are many OpenID-providers out there today, thats good. They all have their own target audience. Some have security in mind others trusts just their own openID, some are eGouverment, some are corporate, some are provided by schools. Launchpad can never be an openID provider that suits all. Canonicals services (Launchpad, Ubuntuone, Ubuntu) have the ambition to target a broad audience (home users, corporate, gouverment, schools), much broader than Launchpad as an OpenID-provider ever can be. Thats why its important to Launchpad to implement the OpenID-consumer part. As long as Launchpad is not its a millstone around all Canonical services neck.

I'm wondering if and when Launchpad is going to start support login using OpenID into Launchpad?

This is a proposal for the wishlist

Thanks
