When shutting down the splash screen isn´t displayed immediately

Bug Description

When shutting down kubuntu I see some of the shutdown messages in blue, only after some seconds the graphical splash screen comes up. It should be visible immediately when x terminates.

I've seen this bug before too, on an amd64 dapper box running kubuntu.

I'm unable to confirm this issue. Is it still a problem in Edgy? Please also check in feisty if possible.

For clarification: I saw the described issue in october, but now I don't use linux on that machine anymore so I don't know if it's still a problem or not.
