Kopete shows duplicate and empty offline contacts

I use kopete 0.80.2 with two accounts (WLM and Jabber) and I noticed that I get many empty offline contacts (I can delete them without Kopete crashing, but it is annoying) and some duplicate contacts that do not have a valid address attached (just the name)

The number of empty contacts and duplicates are in the hundreds and it's very time consuming to remove all of them.

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Hi,

The bug is already reporte upstream [1] and it shows as fixed. However, Kubuntu packages still have the issue. That's why I'm reporting it here ;)

Your KDE is outdated. You should update to KDE 4.3.4 for the fix.

KDE 4.3.4 has not been released for Karmic (at least officially). Is it going to be release as a backport?

I don't know if the problem is fixed in Lucid, I will test and report back...
