Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
1) Ubuntu 9.10
2) nautilus:
Installed: 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu2
Candidate: 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu2
Version table:
*** 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu2 0

3) I pressed F2 to rename a file. While typing the new file name, I had to type the character 'r', which is the shortcut for opening a new tab (at least in my nautilus). Instead of typing 'r', Nautilus exited the file renaming mode and opened a new tab.
4) Keyboard shortcuts should not override the renaming mode.
Workaround: type the new file name in any text field and then copy & paste it.
Note: I don't know whether this shortcut 'R' for opening a new tab is the new default, but the fact is that I've always used Ctrl+T in the past in Jaunty Jackalope. Since I've upgraded to Karmic, it's become 'R'. However, I've never changed any shortcuts.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The default shortcut for new tab in nautilus is Ctrl+T. Do you still get this bug?
