Ctrl-Shift-A does not select thread in Thunderbird on PPC

Bug Description

This is a regression - it worked fine with Thunderbird on Breezy (although with a different shortcut - Shift-A).

In the Edit menu of Thunderbird, Select->Thread is advertised with the shortcut Ctrl-Shift-A. Using this key combination on Thinderbird 1.5 on Dapper PPC does not appear to do anything.

This looks like it might be related to Debian bug #246916 (marked resolved in Thunderbird 0.9-5): http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=246916

This is going to sound weird, but the bug email generated by the creation of this bug crashed Thunderbird - in threaded view, I hit an infinite loop with complete freeze, and the only solution was to kill -9 the process. It's not the first time I've had problems with Thunderbird in threaded mode with 1.5 (se Mozilla bug #331676 - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331676) - this is perhaps linked.

Is this still an issue for you? We are trying to trying sort out the older Mozilla issues and would like to know if this still happens.

Very much so. It is also an issue on Dapper on x86. I have also confirmed with some other people that this is an issue for them.

I'm using Thunderbird 1.5.0.9 now.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

This was an upstream bug, which got fixed in Thunderbird 2 (included in Gutsy, I believe?). It can now be closed, thanks.
