Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Possible dups of bugs #450258 #450633. I also have to login and add my computer to ubuntuone each and everytime I boot-up. A fix was committed on 10-27 for server issues but I've had this bug for a few weeks now. If you need anything else let me know.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Is it still not working properly for you? Also, are you behind a proxy server? Thank you, Joshua

Sorry I forgot about this bug, and update about 3 weeks after submitting
it fixed the bug. Never did find out what it was.

I just wanted to mention that I wasn't having this problem until today. My machine booted normally and I was using it without issue to copy some files from a flash drive to U1. I rebooted my machine before U1 had finished updating and now it refuses to update and every reboot, Firefox opens to the login and 'add computer' process. Firefox will also open randomly while I'm using my computer, asking me to again login and add the computer.

I tried to delete the couch db and reboot.
The result was that connection to ubuntu one was no longer successful. Even after deleting 5(!) different hashes of my computer i was unable to register my machine again. There was no possibility to add my computer again.
Reinstallation of Ubuntu One was not successful.
I have switched off tor and privoxy and used direct internet connection to ubuntu one.

Yesterday I reinstalled Karmic completely and installed all updates. After I connected to U1, it started to download what I had saved to U1. After a while, it said my files were 'up to date,' but there were files missing. When I logged into one.ubuntu.com, I saw that almost 70mb of files were just GONE! I had the foresight to backup everything ahead of time, but still, I wasn't expecting to lose anything.

I should also have mentioned that, since reinstalling, it has asked me three times to authenticate this machine. It seems to be stable since the third authentication, but I still don't think that's right.

If this is still an issue for you with the latest version of Ubuntu One you can reopen this bug by setting the 'Status' to 'New'. The status of a bug report can be modified by clicking on the current status in the yellow line, which will reveal a sub menu. You can then set a new status in the drop down box. To attach more information please run the command :
apport-collect -p ubuntuone-client 488393
Include any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue. These would be:

~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log
 ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log

Please continue to report any bugs you may find in the future.
