Bug Description
The GTK File Dialog tends to get in the way just about every time I want to save a file. I by automatic habit will begin typing the name.
I read previous post on this and am proposing this again as a paper cut that needs more a smooth flow. As the current situation is that when I go to save a file the the file name box is highlighted, but the focus is elsewhere. Thats the first part of the usability issue. The second is I am ready to type the name normally when I'm saving as I am in the directory I need/want to be in.
My simple solution or part to the solution is to fuse the directory list search and file naming.
Yes just in a similar fashion to how web browsers do it.
(Except instead of a popdown menu temporary ABC like order takes place in the directory, or just jump to the most relevant folder/file and allow tabbing through them. )
There is no reason to have a random pop-up text box. It disturbs work flow and most of the time makes me have to redo what I was typing.
So as you type it still searches in a the dialog, but if you type something different its automatically like saving a new file.
No focus is lost, no abilities are lost and the paper cut is handled.
Additionally I have to say to ensure 100% keyboard navigation Ctrl+Tab should navigate the between places side bar name and directory list along with other buttons and parts of the dialog.
