Bug Description
Sorry I can't give you a lot of info, I didn't really experience a crash but had an error message (see attached screenshot) after running Update Manager today, 11/24/2009. After rebooting the crash/error manager showed up in the top panel.
Hope the error report makes it and is helpful.
ProblemType: Package

Date: Tue Nov 24 16:42:08 2009
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10
ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release amd64 (20091027)

Package: linux-image-
ProcVersionSign
SourcePackage: grub2
Title: package linux-image-
Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic x86_64
affects: | ubuntu → grub2 (Ubuntu) |
Don't know what to do with the changed package? It doesn't appear in
the Update Manager.
Also, don't know if this is related but now when I install different
packages from Synaptic or the Ubuntu Software Center I receive the
following error message, only the installed package line is different:
installed cd/dvd creator 2.6.31- 15-generic: subprocess installed post-installation generic: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
E: linux-image-
script returned error exit status 1
E: linux-image-
E: linux-generic: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
The installed package either doesn't work or isn't fully operational.
More and more apps have become unstable/unusable in the last week,
should I just reinstall 9.10 and then downgrade grub? Or downgrade my
whole system to 9.04? I don't have the knowledge or time to learn all
about the intricacies of Ubuntu/Linux, sorry, just want it to work like
it did with 9.04.
