Bug Description

The multiple card slot on acer aspire one doesnt work properly. When I insert a memory stick pro it isnt being detected. It wont show up in dmesg either. The only way to see it is to boot ubuntu with the stick already inserted.

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu.
Karmic koal 9.10
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.
???
3) What you expected to happen
That the stick will become visible in ubuntu.
4) What happened instead
Nothing

Hi ArmiDuctor,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 487772

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeremy,

I tested the multi card reader in my aa1 and it is still not working. I tested with a Memory stick duo and it didn't pop up in dolphin (using kubuntu now in stead of ubuntu, but same problem).
I also tested the upstream kernel, but no luck there either.

Btw, I'm running the latest 10.04 version (with up to date packages) now instead of 9.10 as stated in the bug report.
