Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.15-23-686

Following problem appeared after upgrading to Kubuntu Dapper:

Keyboard and mouse sometimes hang for a moment. This means that some letters do not appear at all, or they appear 10 times at a time. (This also happens for spaces-, backspace- and cursor-move-characters)

Example: "Hello, my me is Nico Dietrich and thisssssss bug is realy annoying!"
(i wanted to write "name" and "this")

Mouse handling has similar problems: clicking and moving sometimes doesn't show any effect.

System information:
 * Toshiba Satellite L10-101 (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/ToshibaSatelliteL10-101)
 * It seems that this problem doesn't depend on X since this effect can also be observed on TTY1.
 * Same thing happens with the 386-kernel (instead of the 686 one)
 * It seems to be a kernel problem: The problem doesn't appear with the current debian testing kernel (2.6.15-1-686)

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this linux-source-2.6.15 kernel bug to the new "linux" package. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Also, if you would be interested in testing the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release, it is available at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . Please let us know your results. Thanks!
