spurious error adding member to team

1- go to https://edge.launchpad.net/~contributor-agreement-canonical/+addmember
2- type 'brian de alwis' into the 'new member' field; this name is unique in lp at the moment
3- observe the error shown in this screenshot
4- observe there's only one entry in the dropdown
5- press submit again
6- error again

You must actually click the single entry in the dropdown to proceed.

Getting me to confirm the username is what I expected is reasonable; giving "invalid value" when it obviously is valid is lame.

This is the same issue reported on bug 33145, which I think is wrongly marked as fixed.
