Windows with long lines of text inside become too wide

Bug Description

Some windows in GTK apps may contain long strings of text without newline characters. This makes windows go wider than any widescreen desktop.

Thanks for writting to Ubuntu Bugs, but in order to help you, You must provide more information about the Bug in question, like the Version of GTK that you are using, the version of Pidgin and other GTK Based apps that have the same problem.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with latest updates. Right now this is happening only in Pidgin (2.6.3-1ubuntu1~pidgin1.9.10), and has been happening since early versions of Pidgin in Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, 9.04.

Earlier, there were same problems with "Save as" windows, if the path was too long, but it is fixed in Karmic. So, only Pidgin for now.

Thanks for reporting this Bug. It is reproducible with latest stable version of Pidgin and GTK running on Ubuntu 9.10. This bug also appear on other GTK Based applications and will be upstreamed to the GTK Bug Tracking System inmediatly.
