With multihead the OSD opens at the wrong place

Binary package hint: notify-osd

I do have a twin-view multihead setup, with a smaller screen to the left containing the menu-bar and a larger screen to the right as my main workspace. The screens are bottom aligned, such that there is an unused framebuffer area above the main gnome panel. The setup is like this, with U=unused, 1=Screen 1 and 2=Screen 2

The popups open at the border of the right screen at the height that would be just below the panel. I would expect them to be on the first screen at the right, at exactly this height.

This is related to Bug #346095 and there is lots of unproductive discussion there.
I have a 1280x1024 display on the left, and a wide-screen 1280x800 laptop on the right.
The notifications appear on the top-right, which is unused.
If only I could customize the location of the popups.....
