Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Hi Ivano,

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Are you using NetworkManager? Based on the log files provided, I can't tell what the cause may be. Sometimes, when NetworkManager isn't used we will see these more cryptic errors. We just released a new version in our PPA that removes the requirement for NetworkManager. So, if you're not using NetworkManager, please use this new version. Instructions for installing the Ubuntu One beta PPA is below:

  1) Applications->Accessories->Terminal then run: sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 0x44d63d274c717c9bd583c20c4da51af64bd0ecae
  2) Open System->Administration->Update Manager
  3) Open System->Administration->Software Sources
  4) Click "Other Software" tab
  5) Click the "Add..." button
  6) Paste in: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntuone/beta/ubuntu karmic main
  7) Click the "Add Source" button
  8) When prompted to reload sources, click "Reload"
  9) Open Applications->Accessories->Terminal
 10) Click the "Install Updates" button
   10a) NOTE: If you don't see Ubuntu One client as an update, click the "Check" button first
 11) Right-click on the Ubuntu One client and select "Quit"
   11a) NOTE: If you don't see Ubuntu One in your task bar, you can quit Ubuntu One from a terminal session: killall ubuntuone-client-applet ubuntuone-syncdaemon
  12) Open Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One

If this does not fix the problem, please report back here and let me know what you are using to connect to the network/Internet.
