Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Hello,

I'm on a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 with gnome and the ATI fglrx (on a Radeon HD 4850 RV770) driver installed with the Ubuntu assistant.

When compiz is started (which is done default since I have installed the fglrx driver). I loose any keyboard shortcut.

It means that :
 - I can't drag my window with alt + click;
 - I can't drag my cube with ctrl + alt + click;
 - etc.

Of course, the needed plugins are activated and correctly configured. By the way, the gnome shortcuts doesn't works either.

Nobody was able to help me on #ubuntu and #compiz.

I use metacity --replace on startup to workaround the problem.

Best Regards

I'm having similar problem since upgraded to lucid.
But is not all shortcuts.
Just Ctrl+(some key, like C, V of F) is not working.
Alt is working, and Ctrl+mouse is working too!
When I turn compiz off, ctrl works again. Video driver is ok.
I have remove the .compiz folder in home, reinstall it, all dependencies, and nothing.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version.Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.

Thank you for the follow up.

Indeed, a long time has passed and I'm not using Ubuntu in this configuration anymore…

So, I guess you can close this ticket.
