Did this happen while running the installer?

It would be helpful to know what bug you were trying to report, and also what, if anything, the dialog box said.

Greetings - and sorry. The installer died after clicking skip during the Configure Apt step.

While trying to report the bug, I saw that it is the same as a bug that has already been reported. I tried to use the 'Me too' on this site, but the pop up dialog box does not seem to have a way to submit it. I added the new bug out of frustration.

I have a Kubuntu install that has been upgraded to 9.10, and I wiped out my grub boot menu. I tried to boot off a Kubuntu 9.10 CD, but it uses Grub 2 and an upgraded Ubuntu uses Grub. I then tried my Ubuntu 8.10 disk, but my boot partition was ext4, and this is not supported. I had tried to make a new 9.04 disk - but couldn't burn a disk off the same drive I booted from. Tried using the USB-install disk creator with the 9.04 iso to make a USB boot disk, but it did not boot.

So I was trying to install into a new partition on a slow connection when the problem occurred. I was, by this time, a little frustrated :-(

Anyway - managed to get a 9.04 cd, fix grub and back up and running. Time to put the netbook edition back onto the USB disk :-)

So, if there is a 'submitted by an idiot' option, you can probably mark this with that.
