popup windows don't render correctly (eg. search)

I'm runing a dual display and when i click the search (f3) or any other popup I can see the pop up window, but it's scrambled. (see attachment)

I'm on windows xp with an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro

This is the infamous ATI bug. Try updating your graphics card driver to the latest driver from ATI/AMD's official website:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

TIP: On the page that opens after you click "Go!", scroll down and choose the option to download the driver only.

A workaround for this bug has been implemented in the development version.

If you have an intel card, then your bug is the famous #426417.
