Hi Max,

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. Can you try the following:

1) Quit the Ubuntu One client
2) Copy your ~/Ubuntu One folder somewhere else (like to your ~/Desktop)
3) Launch a terminal session (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) and run:
    sudo rm -rf ~/.local/share/ubuntuone/syncdaemon
    sudo rm -rf ~/Ubuntu One/
4) Start the Ubuntu One client
5) See if Ubuntu One properly syncs your files from the server to your computer
6) Replace any files from the backed up ~/Ubuntu One folder into your ~/Ubuntu One folder

Let me know if you receive the same types of errors or not.

Thank you,

Joshua

Funnily enough, that seems to have improved matters. The web account got emptied, then populated upon readding of the files to the ubuntu one folder.

It may be helpful to explain that I am using ubuntu one on two workstations, as I want to share/synchronise some simple files between them. On pc two, no files are downloaded, and it results in:

Note that I had to reinstall my karmic on that particular pc (unrelated issue) and it's working fine now, so I cannot reproduce it/provide further information from hereon in.

Hi,

In order to find out what's the problem we need the syncdaemon logs, located at ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log.

if you can reproduce this, please follow this steps to set the log level in debug:

1. Open (or create if it doesn't exist): ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf
2. Add the following 2 lines to this file and save:

[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

3. Restart the Ubuntu One client
4. Let the client try to sync (maybe even add a file to force it to sync)
5. Attach ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log to this bug report

Regards

Followed your steps. Logfile attached. I did not reach the incorrect state problem in the time I gave it but U1 lost connection several times and did not perform any syncronization.

Your disconnects might of been because of the degraded service that was experienced recently. Sync performance has been improving a lot. Has your connection improved?
