Geany 'line wrapping' functionality doesn't work

The 'line wrapping' option available in Edit -> Preferences -> Editor -> Features doesn't work at all.

There is a separate option under "Document" which affects the currently opened document. I am not 100% sure what the option in the preferences does, maybe it is the "default" for newly opened documents.

Ach, indeed. I didn't notice that. Maybe it should be marked somehow that settings in Preferences apply only to new documents...

In the links above, some people said that the "preferences"-setting is a global setting and that the setting for individual files has to be set in "Document > Line Wrapping". But that does not work for me either. The only think that works for me here is "Line Breaking" but that is very often unwanted, e.g. in regular text documents.

Could you give a quick explanation why the bug was declared invalid?
