Bug Description

On slower systems when using media keys to adjust the volume The popup and the action of changing the volume, while under even moderate load is delayed many seconds. changing the priority of notify-osd to a negative value (eg. -6) makes everything much more responsive, however you need to use sudo to renice something, so thats not an everyday fix.

I've seen this too on my not-slow laptop. I don't really know what would be the right way to fix it, nor how important it is in the overall scheme of things. Mirco - could you prioritise this please?

Changed in notify-osd:
status: New → Confirmed
assignee: nobody → Mirco Müller (macslow)

I think this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/notify-osd/+bug/367049 is the same problem Sorry I didn't catch it because of the title. Mirco is working on it as well so hopefully we'll see a fix soon. When the user presses a key THAT is the most important thing to the user at that moment, notify-osd should reflect that.
