Bug Description
Binary package hint: mozilla-mplayer
I run Dapper upgraded from Breezy. I don't think I have changed any of the firefox, mozilla or mozilla-mplayer packages or their configs. I have tried removing ~/.mozilla and "apt-get remove --purge" the packages and reinstalling them.
Steps to reproduce:
- Make sure firefox, mozilla-browser and mozilla-mplayer are installed
- Check about:plugins in both browsers --> looks similar/identical
- Try to watch a movie --> works in firefox, not mozilla
I have tried to set debug=1 in /etc/mplayerplu
"mozilla http://
--> no output in console and a white page in the browser (I removed the libnullplugin.so to see if it was interfering because it was shown in stead of mplayerplug-in, but it seems mozilla really doesn't think it can display .mov (or .mpg etc) files).
"firefox http://
--> lots of debug output and the movie plays
I was told this may be a packaging problem at the mplayerplug-in bugtracker:
http://
My "/usr/lib/
Java and Flash works in both browsers
I have also experienced this bug.
First noticed it upon a Breezy > Dapper upgrade. Tried uninstalling (also removed ~/.mozilla & ~/.mplayer the second time) /reinstalling both packages twice.
I also noticed this on a dapper daily build [- Alpha i386 (20060228)] > Dapper install.
I have not tested on a fresh install.
