Bug Description

besides the problems with samba that bindwood creates, it also seems to interfere with ubuntu remembering preferences the user has set previously.

For example i set in >System >Prefrences >StartupApps a lancher to start empathy instant messenger to start everytime i booted up. It worked, but today i didnt want it to start anymore, so i unchecked the box. After rebooting empathy still came up, s i checked and ubuntu had forgotten that i had unchecked it. This happened a second time before removing bindwood.

I also was having problems with ubuntu remembering my power settings. I had set it to not blank the screen at all. But, ubuntu forgot and blanked the screen frequently while i was watching youtube lectures. It was very annoying. I couldn't remember what i had installed, and then realised the problems occurred after installing bindwood. As far as i can tell, the problem has gone away after removing bindwood.

Moved this to Ubuntu, as it seems like a general set of issues with using Ubuntu. I don't think bindwood actually had anything to do with any of this (especially since it's a firefox extension and has nothing to do with the mentioned problems). Any relation to installing/removing it, and seeing the issues mentioned, are probably not specifically related, but rather unfortunate timing. Thanks for the report.

Hello
Is this problem present with the latest updated Karmic's or Lucid's packages?
Thanks in advance

No, i don't think so.

It probably never had anything to do with bindwood. More likely to do with empathy, or something else i messed with. I no longer use empathy, so i have no way to confirm. It was hard to track down in the first place, so i'll never know what caused it. ( i think it may have been due to some customising of the netbook interface)

Feel free to mark this as invalid or null.
