Remote Desktop Viewer (Vinagre) 2.28.1-0ubuntu1

While trying to connect to a VNC server, the password field on the Authentication is required screen cannot accept more than 8 characters. A Windows Real VNC client can accept up to 9 characters on the password (I have not tested more).

The same 8 char limit is applied when a connection is configured through a SSH tunnel and vinagre asks for the SSH password to open the tunnel, however no such limit exists on the SSH passwords.
