Bug Description

Running an AMD64, ATI graphics card 8250, I started up from the 6.06 CD, went all the way to "starting sys log", then screen blanked and PC died, had to do an electrics OFF restart.

CD checksums are OK,

Running from Safe graphics mode is ok.

startup no longer asks about localisation, or keyboard?

Am now exploring the cool new Ubuntu!

Let me know if I can help debugging this...
GF.

We are actively preparing Ubuntu 7.10 codename Gutsy.
Maybe you would be interested to know that a new Beta Live CD will come out tomorrow, named Tribe-4.
By trying it, no need to install it, you can help us make sure it works fine with your hardware and make the next version better.
You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/
